I have for quite some time been fascinated with the art of the late great Beckett. With some notable exceptions, his extraordinary body of work is still largely unknown to the great public, probably due to its harsh, avant-garde content. I feel that a genius of his stature needs to be further explored. His visionary works are still relevant, and also aptly describe the brutal reality of the here and now, especially in the atmosphere of Israel during the last 9 years.

Originally my plan was a full-on tribute for Beckett, I even translated some works on my own for a future spoken word album in Hebrew. But eventually decided that it’s best to write new music which will be inspired, in various ways, by his life’s work. I strongly urge the listener to delve into the Beckett that inspired me so much.

Musically, this album is an accumulation of solo works, starting back in 2010. I bought a Boss loop station, started working with it and pretty fast built a solo performance around it. Around that time I also started my blog, uploaded my first recordings online, and later started playing and performing. I've been in "Priest Stranglers", then recorded my solo album "Decomposing Composers", then came "Zefet" which mutated into "Rukshin". Funny enough, it all came from that loop station with those primitive loops that I created in 2010, the same loops which eventually became this album. So you could say that this album is in more than one way a closure of a period which is both personal and musical.

With Beckett’s breathtaking, mind-shattering works in my mind I was able to construct this album. I think of this work as my musical ID card, an MRI scan of my musical background and outlook. It encompasses everything I’d been listening to, playing, writing and recording in the last twenty-odd years. So in many ways, this album is me personified. Perhaps next time I will get to be someone else.

I wish to those who listen to have a pleasant experience, and after that go and read some Beckett.
